A majority of swiftlet house owners are the ones who voted DAP into office. They might lose the next GE by doing something rash.

more scare-mongering. as if you know what "the majority" of those owners do. lol...

can i then say the majority of those affected residents also voted for DAP and they will lose the next GE if they continue to ignore public sentiments?

1 noisy bird houses affects tens if not hundreds of people. so by your reasoning, who do you think is the bigger majority?

I am trying to get a coherent forum discussion going so that I may direct various people who are involved in the implementing of the 1GP to view all the comments.

The results can go in any sides favour but most importantly everyone's views are considered.

There is no intention to be biased but every intention for it to be fair to everyone for an amicable solution. A "Win Win" solution as they have often said.

There is absolutely nothing difficult with discussing it here but it is an anti swiftlet blog, therefore inappropriate and with due respect to the blog owner, we have to have the owner's permission before anything is posted, ie aka moderated.

Lowyat Forums are open to all, unmoderated so long as rules are followed pertaining to netiquette, direct sales solicitations etc. Furthermore, posts in LY get posted immediately allowing everyone a lively unedited access.

Can anyone ask for more in Democracy.

BTW please note that it clearly states that posts will only appear after permission from the owner. That is called moderation !

Democracy includes transparency, accountability etc etc. and public participation. Where has there been any of that with urban swift farming? There has been no public discussion regarding the guidelines. Who is accountable if there is an outbreak of disease? Who is accountable for the noise pollution created by theses birds? Who is accountable for the utter and total nuisance these birds cause over and near homes, restaurants, hotels and people? The swiftlet farms are not respectful of any neighbours, their property or their health and safety! Will the State government sell itself just to the highest bidder and scarifice a basic moral code- to serve the people and to ensure the health and safety of the public? I truly hope not!

The accommodation in hostel is usually very basic with shared dorm-type rooms and shared bathrooms.
